When visiting Jasper National Park, deciding where to stay can seem like a truly daunting task. There are endless options to consider and you need to ensure you pick a location that is within your budget and a feasible location.


So, before picking where to stay you ultimately need to build an itinerary and decide what you want to do. This will help decide where you want to stay.


If your plans include visiting the local restaurants, bars, and shops then we recommend you stay in Jasper. The town of Jasper, and particularly the downtown area, is quite small and easily navigable on foot or by a very quick drive. In this case, staying in Jasper means most of what you want is right outside your door.

Jasper Hotels


There are several hotels to choose from in Jasper that offer their own unique perks and conveniences. Staying in a hotel is a very convenient option, but it can come at a hefty price tag - expect to pay a minimum of $350 per night during the summer season and up to $400 per night during a peak time (long weekend, etc).


Should you wish to stay in a hotel, you could also find hotel rooms with kitchens so you can prepare some of your own meals. Grocery stores, delis, etc. are easily found in Jasper for you shopping convenience.


  • Jasper Inn and Suites Hotel, Best Rooms With Kitchenettes: This hotel is considered one of the best hotels in Jasper for the price point. The hotel contains an indoor pool, hot tub, sauna and a buffet breakfast (for a surcharge) and is also pet friendly. It is great for traveling families and a lot of the rooms come with kitchenettes. Be sure you book several months in advance because this Hotel books quickly!

  • Forest Park Hotel, Most Extravagant Hotel: There are several rooms at varying price points, but this hotel is overall a remarkable hotel in Jasper. They have a full service spa, indoor heated pool, spacious rooms, steam room, sauna, and much, much more. If you are looking for luxury in Jasper, this is the hotel for you!

  • Tonquin Inn, Best Budget Hotel: Tonquin Inn wins the best budget hotel in Jasper hands down. A standard room is typically $100 cheaper than the competitors. The rooms and furniture are fairly dated, but its nothing unbearable. The hotel still offers a sauna and indoor pool but other amenities will be hard to find.

  • Whistler’s Inn, Best Mid Range: This hotel is the perfect hotel for those not looking the break the bank, but also to enjoy a decent hotel. The rooms are fairly spacious and updated, while the hotel itself boasts an indoor pool, sauna, 2 restaurants and 2 gift shops. The hotel is also right in the center of downtown Jasper so you can walk almost anywhere in less than 10min.


Rent a Room in Jasper


There are several room rental options in Jasper, whether it be a bed and breakfast or an Airbnb. This might be the best option if you don’t mind sacrificing some personal space - quite a lot of the bed and breakfasts in Jasper can be a fair bit cheaper than the hotels in town.


There are also quite a few properties that list on Airbnb in Jasper, although they will likely cost the same amount your typical hotel in downtown Jasper. Although, renting an entire home might prove to be the cheaper alternative if you’re traveling with family or lots of friends. Checkout the Airbnb listings in Jasper!


Jasper Hostels


There are several hostels located throughout Jasper National Park, but there is only one hostel within the Town of Jasper itself - that is the Jasper Downtown Hostel. If you don’t mind sacrificing your privacy and personal space, this is the perfect place to stay without breaking the bank!


Dorm beds will only cost you around $100 during peak season. The hostel is located directly in the middle of downtown Jasper which makes it super convenient!


Staying Outside the Town of Jasper


If none of these options appease you, staying outside the town of Jasper can offer a vacation that feels more secluded and may allow you the opportunity to connect more with nature. As long as you don’t mind commuting into Jasper for your needs, this can be an excellent option - especially if your itinerary consists of stuff mostly outside of Jasper. 


There are plenty of accommodation options located outside of the town that can fit nearly nearly every price point imaginable.
