There's plenty of tourist places in Jasper that offer amazing experiences guaranteed to please nature lovers and adventure seekers alike. There are so many Jasper National Park tourist attractions to choose from! This list focuses on the attractions that require admission or an "entrance fee" - but there are plenty of tourist places in Jasper that are free!

Jasper Skytram

Effortlessly soar to new heights aboard the Jasper Skytram - one of the most famous tourist attractions in Jasper National Park. This Skytram, located near the base of Whistlers Mountain, will elevate you through the rugged alpine wilderness of Jasper towards the summit of Whistlers Mountain (although not completely to the summit). In just a short 7 minute ride, you will find yourself 2,277 meters (7,472 feet) above sea level.


You'll be exposed to panoramic views of the lush forests, pristine lakes, and quaint town below. A short hike (roughly 1.5km - .9mi) awaits you to the summit. If you wish, you can also complete the Indian Ridge Summit while you are up there. A wonderful coffee shop and restaurant is also located at the summit for a truly memorable experience.


Boat Cruise to Spirit Island

By far one of the most popular activities in Jasper National Park, the Maligne Lake Cruise offers you a chance to see Maligne Lake in the most spectacular fashion. You can effortlessly glide through the lake and absorb all the views of the surrounding forests and majestic mountains. The Maligne Lake Crusie is also the best and easiest way to see the famed Spirit Island.


Spirit Island, Jasper National Park is one of the most famed photography points in all of Jasper. Located in what is referred to as the “Hall of the Gods”, it holds immense spiritual value to the Stoney Nakoda First Nations and as such it is forbidden to walk on the island.


Jasper Skywalk - Jasper National Park Tourist Attractions

The Columbia Icefield Skywalk is probably the 2nd most popular tourist attraction in the Columbia Icefields. It offers truly amazing views as you walk along a 400m (1/4 mile) glass platform and gaze down at the drop more than 280m (918ft) below.


Feel the excitement as you gaze out at the panoramic views and vast, expansive wilderness. The Jasper Skywalk is also one the few tourist attractions in Jasper National Park where you can see mountain goats!


Columbia Icefield Adventure

By far one of the most popular activities in the Columbia Icefields, the Columbia Icefield Adventure offers you a chance to see the Athabasca Glacier in a truly unique fashion. You’ll get to ride in an Ice Explorer (very large trucks) that effortlessly traverse up the icy and rocky landscape on your Athabasca Glacier Tour.


You’ll spend roughly 30min traveling from the Columbia Icefield Discovery Center (Columbia Icefield Center) towards the exclusive walking area. Here, you will provided with some remarkable views and enjoy roughly 20min to walk on Athabasca Glacier - and of course drink right from the glacier itself! You’ll then enjoy a 30min ride back to the discovery center.


Miette Hot Springs

Indulge in one of the most relaxing experiences found within Jasper National Park, Miette Hot Springs - it's not often you can soak yourself in the hot, mineral rich waters sourced deep from below Fiddle River in such a panoramic beauty that is the Canadian Rockies.


Take a nerve tingling plunge into the cold pool or relax in the hot pool with water temperatures ranging from 37 to 40 degrees Celsius (98 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit). If you feel up to it, you can also complete the "source of the spring" trail which literally takes you to the source of the spring used in the pools.


Jasper Wildlife Tours



Embark on the wildlife excursion of a lifetime through pristine wilderness of Jasper National Park - as you hunt for some of the most iconic species of the Canadian Rockies. Sundog offers some wonderful wildlife tours, each tour - led by some knowledgeable and professional tour guides - offers the chance to encounter the Parks diverse wildlife.


All you have to do is sit back and relax as you are driven throughout Jasper National Park on the hunt for elk, moose, sheep, and of course bears! While wildlife is quite easy to find throughout the Park, it is nice to let someone else do the work. Jasper Rafting Tours


If you're a thrill seeker, then this is the activity for you! Experience the rush as you rush along the mighty Athabasca River through the breathtaking scenery of the Canadian Rockies. You'll navigate rapids, bends and turns that are guaranteed to get your pulse racing.


White Water Rafting Jasper offers several different route options for a variety of skill levels. If you feel up for it, make sure you select the one with the most rapids and you are guaranteed to get wet!
